principalPrincipal’s Message

Dear Families.

Welcome to the new school year! As we open our doors to a fresh start, we are filled with anticipation for the opportunities that await us. Our commitment to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth remains steadfast. We are eager to welcome back our returning students and extend a warm greeting to the new members of our school family. Together, we will cultivate an intense sense of community, where every student feels valued, accepted, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Let us embark on this journey with optimism and a shared vision for a successful and enriching year ahead.

It is an honor to serve as the Principal of Michigan Avenue Elementary School, and a pleasure to watch the growth in students throughout Osceola County. I am delighted to be a part of the community and Principal at MAE. It is heartwarming to see all the accomplishments made and memories created throughout each school year. It gives me immense joy to see our students excel in and out of the classroom. I am proud of our athletic and artistic students who continue to amaze me with their talent and recognition at district and state competitions. In addition, parent participation at events held at the school is thriving, and it is always wonderful to witness as we strive to build capacity and sustainable relationships among all stakeholders involved in the journey to academic success for children. This includes parent involvement in the School Advisory Council (SAC), Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and Title I Parent Involvement events held during the school year. A warm thank you to our parents for your involvement. Research demonstrates a tremendous amount of a student’s life success is determined by the parent.

Please do not hesitate to call me with questions regarding your child. I welcome your suggestions, and I encourage your interest and active participation in preparing our students and community for the future. I have an open-door policy and welcome you to contact me by phone, in person, or by e-mail at diane.crooknichols@osceolaschools.net.

Thank you for sharing your child (ren) with me. I look forward to a successful 2024-25 school year together!

Kind Regards,

Diane Crook-Nichols Principal

Testimonials

Boggy Creek is like a family to me because they are there for me and they, help me when I'm sad or anxious. -Brianelys

parents

My connection with Boggy Creek actually starts a long time ago. I was a student here when we first moved to Kissimmee so I started here in first grade and stayed through fifth grade. Now I get to see my boys go to school here and experience things and see how the school grown in, you know, 25 plus years. It’s been really great to see all the opportunities that they get from coming to a school that’s as connected to the community as Boggy Creek is. Education is going to happen wherever you are, but the dedication that these teachers show day in and day out is unmatched. It’s always how can we improve for each one of our students. -Chris and Ingrid
