It was a steamy evening at our last cross-country meet at Osceola High School, but that did not slow our amazing athletes down. Many athletes placed in their age groups and improved their times from the last race. This meet was the last opportunity for athletes to qualify for finals and we had 25 team members make it to finals. Hard work does pay off! Come cheer on our team on October 24th at Celebration High School at 9 am for finals.
Notable mentions from October 13th Meet at OHS:
The Bullpups showed up ready to run at our cross-country finals at Celebration High School on October 24th. Wet, mushy grass could not stop our athletes from giving their all. The youngest of our athletes, Brylee McConnell, ran her fastest mile yet at a 10:40 pace. Fourth graders Leah Bonesteel, 7:44, and Darianette Soto, 7:22, took 4th place in their age groups. Finishing out their last elementary school cross-country meet, Nevaeh Davis, 7:19, and Wyatt Fountain, 6:21, took first place for their 11 years old and up age group.
I could not be prouder of these young athletes. They came to practice, worked hard, and it paid off at this last meet. 20 of 22 meet runners had their best pace of the season. Many dropping a minute or more off their previous times.
