Dear Families,

What an incredible start to an exciting new school year! The energy, excitement, and joy throughout our school have been truly inspiring. From welcoming fresh faces to reconnecting with familiar ones, we have seen students dive into learning, build friendships, and begin forming the foundation for a successful year ahead.

Thank you for your support in helping make the new school year such a positive start. Your partnership is essential, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us each day. Here at Michigan Avenue Elementary, we are Kind, Responsible, and Safe. As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

We are looking forward to a year filled with growth, achievement, and memorable moments. Let us keep the momentum going!

Kind regards,

Testimonials

A group of children and adults pose together outdoors, smiling at the camera.

I love that it truly feels like home. My child, Lennon, has been a part of the MAES family since he was 3 years old and is in 2nd grade now. I’ve seen him grow leaps and bounds socially and emotionally.

When I walk the halls with him as a volunteer, I love that so many staff members know him by name. Being involved with PTO and SAC, I’ve learned that the more you put into the school community,

the more connected you feel. We’ve also been blessed with caring teachers such as Mrs. Smith, Mrs. McWhorter, and Mrs. Taylor, who have each made such a difference in Lennon’s life.

Lennon has grown so much at MAES—not just in academics, but also in confidence and social skills. He has learned how to express himself, build friendships, and problem-solve in ways

that will carry him far beyond the classroom.

I would recommend MAES because it’s more than just a school—it’s a community.

The staff is deeply invested in every child, the families are welcoming, and the opportunities for involvement make it easy to feel like you’re part of something bigger.

It’s a place where children are supported, challenged, and truly cared for.
