Principal, Diane Crook-NicholsPrincipal’s Message

Dear Families,

As we move into the second quarter, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible progress our students have made so far this year. The first quarter was filled with learning, growth, and community-building, and I am proud of the dedication shown by our students, teachers, and families.

This quarter, we will continue to focus on academic excellence and character development. Our goal is to ensure every student feels supported and challenged as they work toward mastering grade-level standards. Remember, learning is a journey, and we are committed to providing the tools and encouragement needed for success.

Please stay connected by checking our school website and newsletters for updates on upcoming events, family engagement opportunities, and ways you can partner with us to make this quarter a great one.

Thank you for your continued support and for being an essential part of our school community. Together, we will make this quarter outstanding!

Warm regards,

Diane Crook-Nichols Principal

Testimonials

A group of children and adults pose together outdoors, smiling at the camera.

I love that it truly feels like home. My child, Lennon, has been a part of the MAES family since he was 3 years old and is in 2nd grade now. I’ve seen him grow leaps and bounds socially and emotionally.

When I walk the halls with him as a volunteer, I love that so many staff members know him by name. Being involved with PTO and SAC, I’ve learned that the more you put into the school community,

the more connected you feel. We’ve also been blessed with caring teachers such as Mrs. Smith, Mrs. McWhorter, and Mrs. Taylor, who have each made such a difference in Lennon’s life.

Lennon has grown so much at MAES—not just in academics, but also in confidence and social skills. He has learned how to express himself, build friendships, and problem-solve in ways

that will carry him far beyond the classroom.

I would recommend MAES because it’s more than just a school—it’s a community.

The staff is deeply invested in every child, the families are welcoming, and the opportunities for involvement make it easy to feel like you’re part of something bigger.

It’s a place where children are supported, challenged, and truly cared for.
