Process:

Nominees will be taken into consideration and voted on by the Maintenance Management Team on the third Wednesday of each month. Criteria standards are considered when selecting each employee of the month (as denoted above). Any employee of Osceola County School District can nominate a co-worker simply by filling out and submitting a nomination form. Forms are available online on the Maintenance Departments district website. They are to be submitted to Mark Cavinee, Director of Maintenance. Submissions can be made by mail 2540 Old Dixie Highway Kissimmee, FL 34744, e-mail (cavineem@osceola.k12.fl.us) or simply place in the marked box in the Employee Breakroom.

Nominators should keep in mind the considering criteria and write their nomination accordingly. When asked why a co-worker is deserving of the award, elaborate on your response; give specific examples; using your descriptions draw a picture for the Maintenance Management Team of the perfect employee. Attempt to reveal in words how your co-worker met each of the criteria.

Once a month, the Maintenance Management Team’s Employee of the Month Selection Sub-Committee will meet to review all of the nomination submissions. Each nomination will be considered according to the previously-stated criteria and voted on to determine the nominee’s employee of the month. The nominee with the most votes will be considered for the award. Once this is determined, we will verify with the candidate’s supervisor that the employee is not under any disciplinary action that would cause him or her to be ineligible for the award.

Once the selection has been finalized, the Maintenance Management Team will present the employee of the month in a Foreman’s meeting, presenting the selected nominee with a certificate signed by the Director, article and photo placed on district website, and front door parking in the designated “Employee of the Month” parking space in the employee parking lot.

Those employees nominated, but not selected will receive notification from the Maintenance Management Team that they were nominated and may be nominated again.

Each month’s recipient will then have a picture with an article framed and it will be displayed on the wall by all three Maintenance timeclocks. As the pictures with a write up rotate off the wall they will be given to the recipient as an additional keepsake.
