Hospitality & Tourism

Comfortable lodging.  A well-prepared meal.  Kind and courteous service.  Through these types of amenities, hospitality and tourism professionals can make being away from home an enjoyable experience for vacationers and business travelers.  Hospitality and tourism professionals are responsible for making sure that not only are these conveniences provided, but that their establishments operate efficiently and profitably.

Our mission:
Hospitality and Tourism prepares students for employment and/or continuing education opportunities in hospitality through technical instruction in the classroom, experiential education through the laboratory and leadership and personal development by participating in student leadership organizations.

FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is a national organization promoting personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and career preparation. FCCLA offers many quality programs and activities that encourage students to set career goals, develop self confidence, and learn about the problems and opportunities inherent in balancing the family and a career. In addition to competitive conferences, students have the opportunity to attend regional and state workshops which provide leadership, teaming, and problem-solving development.

Skills USA is the student leadership organization for Architecture and Construction. SkillsUSA provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development. The organization builds and reinforces self-confidence, high ethical standards, superior work skills, lifelong education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and involvement in community service activities. Members are part of a national group of skilled youth on the move - working toward future career goals. SkillsUSA members make things happen in their schools and communities and in the nation with their leadership and work skills.
